17 Lex Leadership Council
Founded in 2016, the 17 Lex Leadership Council (LC) gives students and recent graduates the opportunity to directly impact how Baruch College engages with new and existing alumni. It is comprised of leadership donors who are current students, recent graduates, and trustees. The Council meets monthly to offer their insights and advice on the College's alumni outreach and also help to plan fundraising and engagement events.
Mission & Vision
The LC aims to strengthen relationships between Baruch and its alumni, and to serve as leaders who help to educate students and alumni on the importance of campus philanthropy. Moreover, the Council aims to combat disengagement by developing innovative programming and communications that increase participation among disengaged students and alumni. Our vision is to increase alumni who are engaged with Baruch and actively financially supporting the College.

I studied finance and investments at the Zicklin School of Business and I’m currently an associate of Modern Bank’s Commercial and Industrial Portfolio Management Team, managing the firm’s senior debt book consisting of 70 plus loans. I give back to make a difference and impact the lives of current and future students at Baruch. It really goes without saying that Baruch is the best value college in New York City. The value I got from Baruch I still benefit from to this day with great friends, a solid network, and experiences. I became part of the 17 Lex Society because I wanted to make a difference for Baruch College and make it better than when I attended. Viktor Bunin, our previous 17 Lex Leadership Council Chair, got me involved in the council and since then I’ve been finding different ways to get alumni active and engage like he did.

I give back to Baruch because I want our future students to have the same opportunities I received when I was a student. At Baruch, I had the pleasure of being part of a global community at a great value. As an in-state resident, I was able to earn my undergraduate degree with very little student loan debt. I admire Baruch’s mission to be a ‘catalyst for the social, cultural, and financial mobility of a diverse student body, and I want to support Baruch’s mission in any way that I can.

Baruch has established a national and international reputation for academic excellence and is known for providing the best resources to help students to become successful professionals. Baruch staff has been always open to helping me, as a transfer student when I need the most. I am currently majoring in Operation Management and Consulting and a minor in Finance. During the Summer I will be joining IBM as Financial Consulting in New York. I joined 17 Lex because I wanted to help make Baruch College better for the following generation of students. It makes me happy to engage with other alumni with the same desire to invest in the success of Baruch scholars.

I am currently an upper junior majoring in general marketing with a minor in communication studies. I chose to attend Baruch because of its reputation for academic excellence and its diverse community. Baruch has given me many opportunities that I am grateful for, and as a proud Baruchian who believes in giving back, I decided to join 17 LLC because I want to support our community the same way I have been supported.

I'm a member of 17 Lex because I know that part of the scholarship I received when I was a student was due the generosity of someone on 17 Lex. The individual donations by benevolent alums helped relieve some of the financial burden of being a full-time student. I donate now to support those students in order to help them in the same way that I was supported.

Since I was in eighth grade, I knew the impact of Baruch and its level of success it had in store for all its students. I knew it had a great business program and it’s located in the finance capital of the world. My experience at Baruch highlighted the essence of grit and earning every good grade I worked hard for. This helps me as a professional because it allows me to have a well thought out plan of execution for each of my objectives and complete them, no matter how many tasks are placed on my to-do list. I give back to Baruch because there are many talented students that need a lending hand from their alumni to remain focused on learning and depend less on distracting part-time jobs just to get by.

I chose to attend Baruch because it was an excellent business school, located in the largest financial center in the world, and it had an extremely attractive value proposition. I studied Finance and Investments and Psychology while I was at Baruch and I’m currently working at 337 Frontier Capital. I give back to Baruch because I realize I would not be who I am and where I am today without this school and the relationships that I have made through it. This helped me understand, at a fundamental level, how important it is for an aspiring individual to surround themselves with supportive people and environments. I joined 17 LLC because I want to be an active part in building up our school’s reputation and future. It would bring me great joy to know that my efforts have directly contributed to the improvement of the school and the experiences of other fellow students.
