The Baruch College Fund (BCF) raised more than $1 million at its annual Bernard Baruch Dinner, held on April 8 at New York City’s Ziegfeld Ballroom.
This marks eight consecutive years the event has brought in at least $1 million to support the College, as BCF proceeds are used for student scholarships, Baruch’s Starr Center, Student Emergency Fund, Bearcat Pantry, and Counseling Center. The 2024 Dinner raised another $73,000 that met a match, triggering an additional $50,000 from BCF Trustee Leon Shivamber (’84) and his wife Leslie.
Two longstanding supporters of the Baruch community were honored at this year’s dinner for their outstanding contributions to the College and its students: Stephanie P. Smith ’96, recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Award; and Marvin C. Schwartz ’62, recipient of the William and Anita Newman Medal for Philanthropy.
