Baruch Asian Heritage Alumni Network: Lunar New Year Celebration and Professional Networking Event

Happy New Year! Baruch alumni and students are invited to join us for this special two-part program:

1. Cultural: A 15-minutes segment on how three different countries - China, Vietnam, and Korea - celebrate Lunar New Year. There will be a 5 minutes presentation for each country to discuss the special celebration/traditions for the region.

2. Professional: After the cultural portion, we will have four virtual industry breakout rooms - accounting, finance, consulting, and real estate - where students and alumni can join in for a short presentation on the trends in the industry (15 minutes), followed by Q&A and networking (30 minutes).

Dion Lou Jay Chakraborty MBA '06
Partner, PwC Financial Services

Jay is a Partner in PwC's Financial Services Advisory practice and specializes in digital and emerging risks for banking and capital markets clients. Jay's focus areas include Information management, Digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy for fortune 500 global banks, broker-dealers and large private equity/ asset management firms. He earned his MS in Physics from Jadavpur University, India and MBA in Finance and Investments from Zicklin School of Business (Baruch College) from CUNY. Jay is a frequent speaker in industry events and roundtables and is also a adjunct faculty at New York University (NYU).



Leslie WangXixi Dong BBA, '07
Director, Nonprofit, Government & Healthcare Group, Marks Paneth LLP

Xixi Dong, CPA, is a Director in the Nonprofit, Government & Healthcare Group at Marks Paneth LLP. She has 13 years of experience in planning and supervising audit engagements for a variety of nonprofit organizations, including large social service organizations, third party funded organizations, educational institutions, charitable, and fundraising and membership organizations including those requiring audits pursuant to Uniform Guidance (Single Audit). She also leads the audits of employee benefit plans, including defined contribution, defined benefit and multi-employer plans.

She serves on several Boards and Committees in nonprofit organizations and served as a student mentor at Baruch College's Executives on Campus and Academic Year Long programs. She actively participates in the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at the New York State Society of CPAs. She earned a bachelor's degree in accounting at Baruch College with Magna Cum Laude



C. HanCharles Han BBA'13
Director, Capital Markets Strategies, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank

Charles Han joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank as a financial analyst and currently serves as the director of financial services. In this capacity, he provides qualitative and quantitative analyses supporting the firm's leasing and capital markets transactions. Mr. Han also provides consulting services to multinational corporate clients involving real estate portfolio strategy and optimization, site selection, acquisition and disposition.

Charles currently serves as an adjunct professor at City University of New York where he teaches undergraduate courses on real estate analysis. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of Asian American Real Estate Association. Mr. Han earned a bachelor's degree from Baruch College, City University of New York, where he concentrated in Real Estate Investment and Economics.




J. CheungGloria Shia MBA'99
Vice President, Investment Management, Goldman Sachs

Gloria Shia is a Vice President in the Investment Management Division. Gloria joined Goldman Sachs in 2005 in the Controllers department under the Investment Management Division. She spent 9 years in China working as the Head of Controllers and the Business Unit Manager for Private Wealth Management (PWM) Division at the Goldman Sachs subsidiary in China. Before joining Goldman Sachs, Gloria worked as Assistant Controllers at Park Avenue Securities, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guardian Life Insurance Company, and as senior auditor at Deloitte. She was the co-chair of China Women's Network while she was working at the Goldman office in China. She currently serves on the board of Chamber Orchestra of New York. Gloria holds an MBA in Accountancy from Zicklin School of Business from Baruch College, City University of New York. Gloria is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and also a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
