Message from the Director of Alumni Relations and Volunteer Engagement

Dear FIRSTNAME:

While the rest of the country grapples with its plans to reopen schools or continue with distance learning, Baruch College's Task Force for the Future was clear in its recommendation: stay online.

"At this point, we expect to be 99% online," said Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs James McCarthy during an August 4 virtual Town Hall Meeting.

Additional recommendations from President Wu's Task Force for the Future can be found on the Office of the President's website.

So, how will this impact Baruch alumni?

  • The Office of Alumni Relations and Volunteer Engagement will continue to host robust virtual alumni events, details of which can be found on the Alumni Calendar
  • Alumni Career Services are still available to alumni to help prepare for our ever evolving job market. Of particular note, discounted Hogan Career Assessments are available online and come with a free 45-minute review session with an experienced coach
  • Executives on Campus will continue to offer mentoring programs, recommending that students and mentors connect via ZOOM, Face Time, or phone. Interested in mentoring? Check out the EOC website
  • Alumni will not have campus or library access, however, those who hold Alumni ID cards that expired on June 30, 2020 will have their ID's extended to June 30, 2021 by request once campus access is again permitted
  • Alumni Networking is still actively encouraged across all our LinkedIn and Facebook Groups

Resilience, grit, and determination are three characteristics that all Baruch alumni share. During these challenging times, we hope you are looking to the horizon and exploring what opportunities may arise, as with constriction comes creativity.

Stay cool, my friends, and see you online soon!
