Message from the Director of Alumni Relations and Volunteer Engagement

Dear FIRSTNAME:

We are three months into our Baruch Oral History Project, and we love the stories we have received so far! Here are just a few quotes from alumni from the Class of 1971, who are celebrating their 50th Reunion next month:

"I went to Baruch College in the evening and worked full time during the day... I was the first African American woman to achieve the level of director…. The MBA from Baruch College set me apart from some of the other candidates."

"... When I started at Baruch College, it was still a part of City College. I could use the GI Bill, and it gave me a chance to start as a non-matriculated student... I did graduate work at Baruch College as well, and I met my wife there."

"Were it not for my education at Baruch College, I am certain that I would not have been as successful as I was throughout my career."

We have received close to 7,000 stories so far and encourage you to share yours! Just call our partner, PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) at 1-800-982-1590 and their representatives will take down your story. You'll be able to purchase a hardcover commemorative book containing alumni memories, including yours.

Meanwhile, our hearts go out to our alumni in India impacted by the surging Coronavirus pandemic. We know so many of our graduates around the world have had their lives turned upside down by the virus, and many have lost friends and family members. We have set up a Baruch in India WhatsApp Group so that alumni across India can communicate with one another, share resources, and offer hope. Please email me if you would like to join this India WhatsApp Group.

Closer to home, Baruch students are preparing for their final exams, and the Class of 2021 will graduate via virtual platform on May 27. We applaud all our students and their resilience and perseverance this past year. Do you have any advice for the Class of 2021? Please share it on our Facebook page. Have any jobs to offer these students or fellow alumni? Please post them on our LinkedIn group.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our virtual programs that will continue through the summer!

Most sincerely,

Janet B. Rossbach

Director, Alumni Relations and Volunteer Engagement
