The Chinese Economy: Moving Beyond COVID-19

Join the New York Confucius Institute for Global Finance at Baruch College as we welcome Kevin Chen, Ph.D. for a macro level look at the Chinese Economy in a post COVID-19 environment.
Dr. Chen will provide a timeline of events that led up to the pandemic. He will then review the pandemic's initial impact on China and the ensuing waves that were felt by virtual every economy on the planet. Next Dr. Chen will paint a picture of where the Chinese Economy stands today in terms of share of world GDP, growth rate, employment rate, leverage levels and manufacturing output. Finally, Dr. Chen will look to the future to see what might lie ahead in 2021 and beyond.
The presentation will be followed with an audience question and answer session.
