Message from the Director of Alumni Relations
Kudos must be given to CUNY for making the decision so early to remain mostly online for the Fall 2020 semester. Baruch is 96% remote, with only a few lab courses meeting in socially distanced classrooms. I am sure many of you are grappling with a wide variety of classroom formats for your continued education as well as for your children. We wish you all much courage and resilience!
Alumni Relations will continue to offer virtual programming as long as there are restrictions for in-person gatherings. One silver lining is that YOU - our Baruch alumni – have been actively registering and attending our virtual events. During the entire fiscal year of 2019, 1600+ alumni attended in-person events, in New York and across the globe. But within just the five months between March and August of this year - when we shifted entirely to virtual gatherings - more than 2,200 alumni have attended our online events. We look forward to seeing many more of you in the months to come!
Of particular note, I invite you to join our View from Abroad: Korea in the Time of COVID event on September 23 at 7 p.m. ET. We have gathered a tremendous panel of experts on South Korea’s economy, venture capital, and entertainment industries, and it should be a very dynamic and informative discussion.
We also continue to offer special Alumni Career Services programs – including our Hogan Career Assessment Package – to help alumni plan their next career steps.
If you are interested in sharing your expertise with Baruch students, and/or help lead a professional or regional alumni network, please join us for our Virtual Volunteer Information Session on September 22 at 5pm.
We thank you all for showing up these last several months. Please email me at email@example.com if there is a topic you would like covered in the months to come, and/or if we can support you in any way.
Stay strong, Bearcats!
Director, Alumni Relations and
